1. Don’t overdo ozone therapy

Stay within the recommended doses.  Many people think, “more is better”.  This is not the case.  Ozone therapy does have a large window of tolerance but doing too much can cause problems, discomfort, and cellular damage.

2. Use a Medical Grade Ozone Generator

Ozone is ozone… right?

Not so right.

There is a distinct difference between a medical ozone generator and other types.  Ozone is used in multiple industries.  Many people are confused because there are ozone generators on the internet for around $100 - $300.  However, these are not medical grade ozone generators (even if they say they are).

A medical ozone generator uses pure oxygen/ozone gas.  There are only a few companies that sell the quality required for ozone. 

Ozone is an extremely strong oxidant which means it will easily break down materials to produce contaminants.  For instance, a machine that uses brass or 304 stainless steel is not resistant to ozone and will produce contaminated gas.

Here are materials considered to be 100% ozone resistant:

  • Quartz Glass
  • Teflon
  • 316 Stainless Steel
  • Medical Grade Titanium
  • Silicone

A medical ozone generator will always require an oxygen tank.

3. Avoid antioxidant supplements until 30 minutes after the treatment

We want to allow ozone therapy to do its work undisturbed.  Ozone therapy naturally increases the amount of antioxidants in the body.  However, antioxidant supplements or treatments should be avoided for at least half an hour.  

4. Do the therapy in the morning or prior to exercise

Often, I will get an email from someone saying, “I did ozone therapy today.  It’s 1AM and I can’t sleep.  What’s going on?

I respond, “What time did you do the ozone therapy?”

Usually people will say, “Before bed” or “After dinner”.

Would you do 150 push ups right before you get into bed?  Not most people.  

Although not everyone stays awake, ozone therapy improves oxygen efficiency and energy.  If you have been energy deprived for a long time, you might be getting a boost from it.  

For this same reason, it is good to do ozone therapy an hour before exercise or a physical activity.

5. Consistency

In Italy there was a brilliant scientist who came across ozone therapy back in the 1960’s. 

“This sounds like bullocks.  Ozone is toxic.”

Yet he couldn’t ignore the people he saw getting better.  It intrigued him.

Fifty years later, this scientist is known as the Father of Ozone Therapy, Dr. Velio Bocci.  His unprecedented work laid the scientific foundation for ozone therapy. 

Among his studies is an extremely common thread of consistency.  It’s simple.  People who don’t do ozone therapy consistently don’t get the desired results!
